About Nick Cardi

For as long as I can remember I have always had a passion for sports. Growing up in New York, I would spend hours in my backyard reenacting Aaron Boone hitting the game seven walk off home run or David Tyree making a miraculous helmet catch to upset the undefeated Patriots. For as long as I can remember, sports has been my passion. Now I am ready to turn my passion into his career.

For the past four years I have been growing, learning and honing my craft as a member of the sports media at the University of Rhode Island. Ever since stepping on campus my passion drove me to The Good Five Cent Cigar and WRIU 90.3 FM, the student-run newspaper and radio station, respectively.

In my junior year I was able to land an internship with WLNE - ABC 6, one of the biggest t.v. stations in Rhode Island. During my time with ABC 6 I learned how to work in a professional setting and gained invaluable experience working in the industry. Getting the opportunity to cover everything from high school basketball games to being able to report on the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals.

In the last couple of months

During my senior year I have been an intern with the University of Rhode Island Athletic Department’s Sports Information Department. Covering both the men's and women's basketball teams as well as featuring some of Rhode Island's exceptional student athletes. I also launched his own sports talk podcast called, “Coffee with Cardi.” Each week I would sit down with a different guest and talk about sports, culture, and much more.

Below I have highlighted some of my best work from each of these experiences!

Each logo will bring you to the work for that organization!
